I asked the Minnesota DPS why the NE permit was not accepted in MN. The reason was this:
NE adopted federal standards for issuing permits. MN is more restrictive. MN requires proof of successful treatment if one is committed or confined for for alcohol use or chemical dependency. See Minn. Stat 624.713 subd. 1(5)
Thus the law are not “similar” and reciprocity is not allowed.
